I thought for a long time that his Monadology was just his desperate attempt to reconcile Spinoza with religious orthodoxy. After having read Wolff, Baumgartner and Kant, I realized that he's much more brilliant than that, although Hume and Kant ultimately refuted him. Upper mid-tier philosopher but still a fucking genius.
