Why didn't the PS1 have a realtime clock? The Saturn had one. It could've been used for RPGs and sim or strategy games.

Is it worth buying original games and consoles to play on? I was thinking of buying a ps1 with symphony of the night but its like a zillion dollars. Should I just emulate?

I missed out on this thing growing up, so I wanna hear what made this console so special, what it had to offer, and what still holds up 25+ years later. Is it better to play PS1 games on it's slim model or a PS2, if I want to play games on original hardware? Also general PS1 discussion thread, too.
